The FRSC Special Marshals of Katsina Sector Command hit the streets on Saturday, 13 December 2025 with a high‑energy public‑enlightenment rally at NARTO Motor Park. The event, themed *“Obeying Traffic Rules and Regulations,”* was part of the 2025 Ember Months Road‑Safety Campaign and aimed to crank up awareness as the Yuletide season approaches.

The team—led by the Deputy Route Commander (Public Education) Babajo Shamsudeen, the State Coordinator of Special Marshals Alh Dr. Sani Yaradua and other officers—talked to drivers and passengers about staying focused, avoiding distractions, and taking personal responsibility for safety. They were joined by members of the NYSC Road Safety Club and regular FRSC personnel, turning the rally into a real show of solidarity.

Starting from the Sector Command premises, the convoy rolled through key spots in Katsina, stopping at the NARTO and NURTW offices in the Central Motor Park.

Special Marshals are the volunteer arm of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). They’re ordinary Nigerians—professionals, celebrities, engineers, teachers, civil servants, business men and women of proven integrity etc.—who give their time to promote road safety, assist in enforcement and even carry out rescue missions.

The Sector Commander who was represented by Deputy Route Commander Babajo Shamsudeen took the opportunity to warn motorists to stop all forms of number‑plate violations, such as covering vehicle registration numbers and using inappropriate plates. He noted that such road‑traffic violations could reasonably be suspected of criminal intent, and anyone arrested for these offences will face the full force of the law.

The campaign highlighted the urgent need for heightened road‑safety awareness during the festive season, urging drivers and passengers to obey traffic rules, avoid distractions, and take personal responsibility for their safety and that of others.

By mobilising Special Marshals, NYSC volunteers, and FRSC officers in a visible rally through key transport hubs, the initiative reinforced community commitment to reducing crashes and ensuring a crash‑free Yuletide period. Its impact lies in both the immediate message to road users and the longer‑term promotion of a safety‑first culture across Katsina State.

The Chairman of the Central Motor Park Alhaji Mùrtala Dandume wrapped up the programme with a heartfelt thank‑you to the Corps for its commitment to a crash‑free festive period.

This local drive mirrors the national Ember Months push, which FRSC launched under the banner *“Take Responsibility for Your Safety: Stop Distracted Driving”* and highlighted in Katsina by Sector Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede
